This is a reminder, sent out once a month, about your lists.okfn.org
mailing list memberships. It includes your subscription info and how
to use it to change it or unsubscribe from a list.

You can visit the URLs to change your membership status or

[public-lod2] OKCon 2011 Submission deadline extended

Dear all,

As you might know, we're busily preparing the schedule for this year's OKCon, which is going to be in Berlin on the 30th June and 1st July. 

We have had quite some people asking to extend the deadline for submission. So here is your chance: Submissions will be open until Mai, 9th at midnight.

[public-lod2] Linking development data workshop 12-13th May 2011

For the attention of Development, Civil Society and LOD2 list members,

We believe in better Aid. Join us online on the 12th & 13th May 2011 #openforchange

More transparency of aid flows and results will lead to better insights and collaboration. But how can we make this work?

Open Data for Development Camp (ODDC) in Amsterdam is a 2-day conference on using open data in international development aid for developers, practitioners and policy makers on the 12th and 13th May 2011. If you would like to attend, book at: http://openforchange.info/oddc.

During the event we will be having an online Linking Development Data Workshop. The workshop format will be two days of intense online collaboration focused on ways of Linking Development Data.


The Themes will be:

[public-lod2] Get involved: OKCon 2011

Dear all,

As you know, we're busily preparing the schedule for this year's OKCon, which is going to be in Berlin on the 31st June and 1st July. We're really excited about this year's event - so much has happened in the last 12 months! We're really hoping you guys will be up for having a meet-up scheduled in, so you can get together face-to-face and chat about the amazing work that you've been doing over the past year and how we can push forward with the next one. Are there times/days which are better or worse for people?

Also, it would be *fantastic* to have presentations, workshops, discussions or lightening talks from people on this list - there's so much activity in the field, it would be great to get a bit of a taster of all your work.

The Institute of Applied Informatics at the University of Leipzig
organizes the third Leipzig Semantic Web Day on May 5, 2011. You are
welcome to share your ideas with us on the topical theme of "Linked Data
for the Masses", particularly focusing on its use in enterprises. This
regional event will not only give you the opportunity to discuss current
developments around semantic web technologies, but also to get in touch
with companies from the German-speaking world.

Der Leipziger Semantic Web Tag (LSWT) gibt interessierten Unternehmen
und Organisationen die Möglichkeit, semantische Technologien kennen zu
lernen und Kontakte zu knüpfen. Anknüpfend an die Erfolge der Vorjahre
wird auch 2011 wieder ein Semantic Web Tag in Leipzig stattfinden.
Im Fokus der diesjährigen Veranstaltung steht das Thema «Linked
Data für die Massen». Viele mittlere und große Unternehmen nutzen
bereits die Vorteile von Linked Data. Der LSWT 2011 möchte daher allen
Beteiligten die Gelegenheit bieten, mehr über Linked Data zu erfahren,
um so den Einsatz semantischer Technologien auch in Ihrem Unternehmen
voranzutreiben.

Wir laden Sie hiermit herzlich ein, sich am LSWT 2011 zu beteiligen. Wir
bieten dazu folgende Möglichkeiten an:

** Teilnahme als Besucher **

Um die Teilnahme so einfach wie möglich zu gestalten, haben wir die
Registrierungsgebühren so gering wie möglich gehalten, insbesondere

** Anmeldung eines Vortrags **

Wenn Sie sich mit einem Vortrag beteiligen möchten, schicken Sie
bitte Vortragstitel und eine kurze Zusammenfassung (nicht mehr als 200
Wörter) an lswt2011@informatik.uni-leipzig.de. Die Deadline für die
Anmeldung von Vorträgen ist der 23.03.2011.

** Anmeldung eines Tutorials **

Am 4. Mai werden Tutorials stattfinden, die den Wissenstransfer
rund um semantische Technologien aus der Forschung in Unternehmen
erleichtern sollen. Darin sollen insbesondere wichtige semantische
Basistechnologien dem Publikum näher gebracht werden. Möchten
Sie ein Tutorial organisieren, dann wenden Sie sich bitte an
lswt2011@informatik.uni-leipzig.de.

** Anmeldung eines Standes **

Wie in den letzten Jahren können Sie sich als Aussteller am
LSWT beteiligen. Es wird Platz für 2 A0 Poster, sowie ein Tisch
bereitgestellt. Es fällt eine Gebühr von 100 Euro an. Bitte wenden Sie
sich hierzu an lswt2011@informatik.uni-leipzig.de.
